About Dr.
Kenneth L. Block
Dr. Block grew up
in New York City. He earned a B.S. from State University of New York
at Brockport, M.A. from Bradley University in Illinois, and a Ph.D. from
the University of Georgia. He has a Postdoctoral Certificate
in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis
Institute. He is an Associate Fellow of the Institute for
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
and a Rational
Emotive Behavior Therapy Supervisor.
Dr. Block is a
licensed psychologist and a Clinical Evaluator for performing
alcohol and drug evaluations for multiple offenders in Georgia.
In addition to
being in private practice in Atlanta since 1979, he has
extensive experience as a psychologist in varied settings, including
vocational rehabilitation, schools, hospitals, prison and Federal
Penitentiary, Social Security Administration, and drug abuse
programs. Currently, he consults to
Consecrated Care, Inc., a methadone maintenance clinic. His
work spans evaluations, psychotherapy, and supervision of mental
health professionals.
Dr. Block is a member of the American Psychological
Association, Georgia Psychological Association, Georgia Addiction
Counselors Association, National Association of Alcohol and Drug
Abuse Counselors, and SMART – Substance Abuse Recovery Training.
In his leisure time, Dr.
Block enjoys Atlanta and horseback riding.
He and his wife share a hobby
of breeding dogs. Recently, their dog Millie had a litter,
including this pup:
